How to Fill out a Game Card - Coaches ==================================================================================================
ALL INTERESTED ALL-STAR / SELECT APPLICANTS SHOULD READ:
Below is the recently approved bylaw regarding the requirements and selection of All-Star / Select coaches. Further revisions and amendments to the current bylaws are pending. Please follow-up at a later date for more information.
ARTICLE VIII. REGIONAL ALL-STARS Section 8.01. The Select Coordinator or Designee will be responsible for overseeing the All-Star / Select coaching selection. Initial coaching applications must be submitted no later than the second week of September.
Section 8.03. The following factors will be used to select the All-Star / Select coach:
1. Application received by the Region by the specified deadline.
** All applicants are subject to pre-approval by the commissioner.
** The application will include three personal references who are familiar with the candidate's experience in AYSO or other youth activity.
2. All candidates are required to read the all-star package provided by the committee and understand what is expected of them in order to provide the best all-star experience to the players.
3. Intermediate or Advanced (or National) coaching certification and Referee (Regional or above) certification are required.
4. Demonstration of "Positive Coaching" and ability to maintain a positive image.
5. Candidates will be observed at least once by a member or members of the Selection Committee. Observation criteria are to be set by Select Coordinator.
6. Warnings and ejection during the regular season will be a determining factor of the coach.
7. Volunteer service to the Region (i.e. refereeing, field maintenance, etc.).
8. After taking into consideration the observations and the interviews, the candidate will needa majority approval by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will consist of the following: Select Coordinator, Regional Coach Administrator and/or designee, Referee Administrator and/or designee, Regional Manager and Division Coordinator
If, in the opinion of the Selection Committee and/or Regional Commissioner, there is a “conflict of interest” with a committee member, the member will be excluded from actions relating to him/herself.
9. The designated committee will provide a formal notification to all candidates after all candidates are interviewed and a coaching selection has been made.
10. In the event there are no acceptable qualified candidates, the Selection Committee reserves the right to consider and approve applicants that can uphold AYSO philosophy and policy.
